When Mary Johnson was a little girl she had a dream, a vision: she wanted to be a pilot for British Airways, and fly a big jumbo jet. But then, when she was about sixteen, she discovered that she didn’treally enjoy flying very much. So she decided to go to sea, and study marine biology at the University of San Diego. Unfortunately, she discovered that she didn’t really enjoy the company of fish, although she did enjoy eating them. Next she decided to move to Paris and be a fashion model (she was very beautiful, and very tall, and very blonde). But there was a problem. She discovered that she really loved French food, and of course you can’t eat very much if you want to be a fashion model! So she started writing articles about French cuisine for an English newspaper, and now she’s a famous restaurant critic.
